Dopplegangers are natural born psychics, feeling for the emotions of the creatures that surround them. Although this provides immense benefits at times, it has also resulted in their minds being very open to psychic assaults. You have vulnerability to Psychic damage.
Dopplegangers tend to gather information about their dupes telepathically, and as such, once you reach 3rd level, you are able to cast the Detect Thoughts spell once, recharging on a long or short rest.
Your mind is slippery and ever shifting thanks to your innate shape changing abilities, which also grants you advantage on saving throws against being charmed or having your mind probed.
You can use an action to polymorph into a Small or Medium humanoid you have seen, or back into your true form. Your statistics, other than your size, are the same in each form. Any equipment you are wearing or carrying isn't transformed. You revert to your true form if you fall unconscious or die.
You can speak, read, and write Common and the language of your parent species. If your parent species was Human, you may choose one relevant language of your choice.
